About Coda

Codependents Anonymous Toronto & Big Book Sponsorship

Welcome to the Big Book Sponsorship meetings page of Codependents Anonymous. This is a Twelve Step, Twelve Tradition-oriented fellowship based on the model pioneered by Alcoholics Anonymous. Our experience has shown that, in addition to studying CoDA literature, lasting recovery comes only through working the steps as outlined in the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. We substitute terms and phrases related to alcoholism to include co-dependency, emotion and thought addiction. Codependents Anonymous is supported entirely through contributions of its membership and is free to all who need it. Our primary purpose is to connect untreated codependents to recovered codependents who guide newcomers through a personalized one-on-one study of our 12-step program.

There are no fees to pay, no axes to grind, no people to please, no lectures to be endured – these are the conditions we have found most effective. We have ceased fighting anything or anyone, even codependency. Love and tolerance of others is our code. We don’t talk down to a codependent from any moral or spiritual hilltop; we simply lay out the kit of spiritual tools for your inspection and show others how they worked for us.

Coda – Toronto Codependents Anonymous Preamble:

Co-Dependents Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women whose common purpose is to develop healthy relationships. The only requirement for membership is a desire for healthy and loving relationships. We gather together to support and share with each other in a journey of self-discovery — learning to love the self. Living the program allows each of us to become increasingly honest with ourselves about our personal histories and our own codependent behaviors.

We rely upon the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions for knowledge and wisdom. These are the principles of our program and guides to developing honest and fulfilling relationships with ourselves and others. In CoDA, we each learn to build a bridge to a Higher Power of our own understanding, and we allow others the same privilege.

This renewal process is a gift of healing for us. By actively working the program of Co-Dependents Anonymous, we can each realize a new joy, acceptance, and serenity in our lives.

Donate – 7th Tradition

Tradition Seven: Every CoDA group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions.

Being a member of CoDA is FREE to all who need it. We accept 7th tradition donations to help pay for costs including zoom room, website, literature and other items needed to run meetings. Only CoDA members contribute financially to CoDA. This keeps the fellowship free of outside influences that could divert us from our primary purpose – to carry a message of hope to the still suffering codependent person. If you are willing and able, please consider donating.
